I had won tickets to go and see The Metros. Unfortunately my pals had either never heard of them, or don’t like going out on “a school night”. So I gave the extra ticket away through Freecycle to a very excited girl called Angela and went by myself. I had a fab night. Two of the bouncers I’ve met before were on the door so I was out chatting to them. Mike introduced me to a guy who might use me for PR work for bands, in return for free entry, so fingers crossed I hear from him soon to keep my addiction fed!! I have been good so far this year and only bought one ticket, although we won’t go into that just now!
So the first band were awful. It wasn’t all their fault and I did feel sorry for them but it was nice when they gave up and left the stage! Next up were The Wallbirds and they do a lovely mix of folk/country/rock. I loved them!
I got chatting to another concert lover, called George and he bought me the CD so I have been enjoying that since the night! The Metros were good, so good I forgot to take a photo! Which is a shame as they are lovely young men! I was rather taken with the guitarist with perfectly polished brogues who was drinking red wine. Bless him, so rock!
This weekend I was off south to meet a couple of babies and help Mum and Dad out in their restaurant. First stop was my cousin’s house in Fife to meet her new son Euan. He is tiny-wee and adorable, and didn’t even cry when I held him! Well, not all the time anyway!
Lynne and Ian seem to be settling into parenthood rather well, except for some hassle with car seats for the wee one. I didn’t appreciate how complicated that could be!
After that I headed to my folks’ place and tried to remember how to lay tables and be a waitress. It all came flooding back - although I don’t like their new glasses that are like very thin fish bowls and refused to wash them! It was opening night after their February holiday so Mum was glad to have an extra pair of hands around, and I was glad to taste test a new chocolate dessert which went down rather well..
In the morning I was thrilled that the whole family of red squirrels came out to feed and play, I even got a glimpse of the sparrow hawk - although luckily not at the same time!
Before heading home I had another baby to meet so Mum and I headed to Myrica’s house and claimed cuddle rights to her new daughter Freya. I was amazed to find she seemed even smaller than Euan was, although of course I won’t comment on who was cuter… Mum enjoyed her wee cuddle.
My journey home featured all the different types of weather imaginable, as well as the most picture perfect rainbow - although unfortunately there was not a layby to be found until it was too late. I enjoyed my few moments driving into the bow though, it was amazing, I could see both ends one at each side of the dual carriage way moving forward as I did so. I am sure I could see where the pot of gold should be but luckily couldn’t see any gold as that would have been very frustrating with no laybys!!
I was glad to get home to my kittie kats and hubby though. Poor Bryan is suffering from a cold so I don’t feel too guilty for having left him all weekend, at least he didn’t have to put up with me and a runny nose!
One last photo before I go to bed, Benson does love boxes so it’s always good to share when we have one…
